Positive Contributions - Giving Back

At Westleigh Methodist Primary School, we believe that giving to others is important. It is central to our Methodist ethos of 'do all the good you can'.

Our Christian values reflect this charitable work too. Love and generosity are key to our positive contributions to society / worthy causes. We also raise awareness of other initiatives such as Anti-Bullying Week.

In the Autumn term 2024 - 25, we will be:

  • Harvest Festival 1.10.24

Families' donations were sent to a local foodbank to help local people in need. It is really important at Westleigh to help people in our community.

  • Wear something yellow for Hello Yellow (Mental Health Awareness) 10.10.24

  • Supporting the Royal British Legion w/c 4.11.24.

We raised money by selling poppies in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday. Before school, Year 6 children sold poppies and Remembrance Day items on the school playground. Items were also sold from the school office after school.
Please see our page on 'Other Forms of Enrichment' which describes how we remembered with our local community during our Remembrance Day Service on Monday 11.11.24.

  • Odd Sock Day - Anti-Bullying Week awareness 12.11.24

  • Children in Need - 14.11.24
  • Our Advent Appeal - supporting the local charity, 'The Brick' - December 2024
